Dr. Saima Khan

Dr. Saima Khan, MD, IFMCP

Dr. Saima Khan is a nationally known physician expert in solving complex medical mysteries. She works as a medical detective, uncovering the layers contributing to chronic illness—drawing on the same root-cause approach that helped her overcome Narcolepsy and ME/CFS.

Dr. Saima Khan

Dr. Saima Khan brings nearly three decades of medical experience—and a deeply personal understanding of chronic illness and recovery—to her practice.

After being diagnosed with Narcolepsy and experiencing years of progressive fatigue, excessive sleepiness, and a multitude of unexplained symptoms, she found little relief through conventional medicine. This led her on an intensive healing journey rooted in research, which helped her uncover and address underlying drivers like brain inflammation, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), mold illness, chronic SIBO and chronic Lyme disease/Bartonellosis and more. By treating the root causes, she was able to restore her vitality—and now helps others do the same.

Dr. Saima earned her medical degree from Aga Khan University, one of the most prestigious medical schools in South Asia (often referred to as the "Harvard of Pakistan"). She completed her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, followed by fellowship training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. She is board-certified in Pediatrics, certified in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), and trained in Medical Toxicology (formerly board-certified).

With extensive clinical experience in pediatric emergency medicine, urgent care, and environmental toxicology, Dr. Saima combines her conventional training with a comprehensive, root-cause approach. She stays closely connected with leaders in the field through ongoing collaboration and professional communities, including Drs. Neil Nathan and Jill Crista’s mentorship group, ILADS, MedMaps, ISEAI, and Dr. Tom Moorcroft’s Lyme Disease Practitioner Program.

As the founder of Rebalance Family Health, a virtual practice based in Florida, Dr. Saima works with patients across the state—and welcomes out-of-state patients through an initial in-person visit. Her clinical focus includes complex chronic illnesses such as Lyme disease and co-infections, mold toxicity, mast cell activation, neuroinflammatory disorders, and gut-brain-immune conditions in both children and adults.
